Floyd Mayweather praised Donald Trump from the stage in Arizona, moments after the president complimented the former boxer’s youthful appearance.
Mayweather traveled aboard Air Force One to Bullhead City, Arizona, where he appeared at a campaign rally supporting Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
The undefeated boxing champion became the latest major sports figure to join Trump on the campaign trail. His arrival was met with an enthusiastic introduction from the president.
Trump described Mayweather as “one of the greatest fighters in boxing history” and praised him as an “unbelievable defensive fighter.”
“That’s why he looks so good,” Trump said before welcoming Mayweather to the stage. “Look at this guy, he looks so good. Who would believe he’s a fighter? He looks so good! He doesn’t have a mark!”
Mayweather returned the compliment, telling the crowd: “We couldn’t have chosen a better president twice than Donald Trump.”

Mayweather opened his remarks with a patriotic message: “America is the greatest country in the world. If I died and came back a million times, I would always choose America.”
“It was great to represent this country in the 1996 Olympic Games,” Mayweather said. “To go out there and represent the red, white, and blue.”
He then turned his attention to Trump before adding: “So it’s all about keeping this country strong, sticking together, and believing in one another. America is the greatest country in the world. Thank you.”
Mayweather, 49, is a Las Vegas native with longstanding business connections in Arizona.
Other sports figures who have appeared at recent Trump rallies include Dennis Rodman, Mike Tyson, Jake Paul, Roger Clemens and Jon Gruden.
Mayweather has publicly backed Trump for years. Last year, he called him the “best president in US history.”
He attended Trump’s first presidential inauguration and continued supporting him during his first term in the Oval Office.

What do you think motivates celebrities like Mayweather to publicly align themselves with political figures?
‘We had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him,’ Mayweather told Fox Business in February of last year. ‘I think Trump is a great president, actually he’s the best president in my eyes, he’s the best president we’ve ever had. Great business man and that’s what it’s about.’
‘Trump has done an amazing job and a lot of people around America are upset. But no matter who goes into the White House, we’re always upset. And I think Trump is the man for the job, he’s the best president in my eyes.’
Mayweather’s fellow boxing icon Tyson also joined Trump on the Presidential aircraft last week, making the journey from the White House to Syracuse, New York.
During his speech at the rally, Trump spotted Tyson in the crowd and invited the former boxing champion on stage.
‘I think we have to call him up, Mike Tyson, will you get up here?’ Trump said.
As the President’s athletic guest of the day, Tyson praised Trump in front of the Syracuse crowd, thanking him during a brief moment on stage.
‘Thank you, thank you very much. I’m just happy to be up here with my president, President Trump. There’s no way in the world I would ever be here if it wasn’t for a president like Donald Trump,’ Tyson said.
Trump was also joined by NBA icon Rodman in Durant, Oklahoma, and former NFL coach Gruden and influencer-turned-boxer Paul in Youngstown, Ohio.
He announced his intention to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to MLB legend Clemens when the former pitcher joined him at a rally in San Antonio, Texas.
