Kristi Noem no longer serving as envoy to Shield of the Americas

Kristi Noem is no longer serving as Donald Trump’s special envoy for the Shield of the Americas, although she will continue advising the State Department on the initiative.

Noem accepted the envoy position in April, shortly after Trump removed her as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

“Kristi Noem’s envoy status expired last month, and she is no longer in that position,” a State Department official told CBS News.

She is expected to remain involved with the Shield of the Americas as a senior adviser to Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The group brings together military and political partners focused on combating drug-trafficking networks.

During a September gathering attended by leaders from the coalition’s 19 member countries, Trump praised Noem and said she had done “a really terrific job.”

The change in her diplomatic role comes as attention has again turned to Noem’s private life. According to court records, her husband, Bryon, is seeking spousal support from her.

Noem’s departure from DHS followed the publication of photographs by Our News Outlet showing Bryon wearing revealing clothing and prosthetic breasts as part of a “bimbofication” fetish.

Our News Outlet has contacted the State Department for comment.

It comes as scrutiny has returned to Noem's personal life, with husband Bryon (pictured right) demanding she pay him spousal support, according to court documents

The development follows renewed scrutiny of Noem’s personal life after court documents showed her husband, Bryon (pictured right), is seeking spousal support

Bryon’s attorneys filed his formal response in Hamlin County, South Dakota, several weeks after Noem began proceedings to dissolve their 34-year marriage.

Noem, 54, submitted her complaint on September 28, citing irreconcilable differences “for settlement purposes only.” She also reserved the right to request financial support from Bryon.

In his response, Bryon agreed that the marriage should end while asking the court to approve monthly spousal-support payments from Kristi.

Neither filing specifies an amount, and the court has not yet ordered either party to make payments.

The couple’s three children are adults, meaning child support is not an issue in the case. Noem’s lawyers have also indicated that they may pursue fault-based grounds if the two sides fail to reach a settlement.

Trump dismissed Noem from DHS on March 5. The Senate later confirmed Markwayne Mullin as her successor.

Her removal came after Noem testified before Congress that Trump had personally approved a controversial $220 million advertising campaign.

The high-profile campaign featured Noem on horseback at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, as well as riding alongside a charging herd of bison.

Noem was grilled by her fellow Republicans during her Senate committee hearing, including hardline GOP Senator John Kennedy.

Kennedy suggested during his question that Noem participated in the commercial to promote herself rather than the President’s agenda.

‘The President approved ahead of time you spending $220 million running TV ads across the country in which you are featured prominently?’ Kennedy asked her.

Noem claimed Trump personally approved the campaign to which Kennedy replied, ‘to me, it puts the president in a terribly awkward spot.’

‘I’m not saying you’re not telling the truth,’ Kennedy continued. ‘It’s just hard for me to believe, knowing the president as I do, that you said, “Mr President, here’s some ads I’ve cut, and I’m going to spend $220 million running them” that he would have agreed to that.’

The shocking confrontation from Noem’s fellow Republican sent shockwaves through the White House.

Trump fired her just two days later after saying he had never approved or reviewed the advertising campaign.
