Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said evidence recovered from the attackers’ vehicle suggested they may have been preparing to carry out an even larger assault.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
I have completed a security assessment with the defense minister, the IDF chief of staff, the director of the ISA, the national security adviser, and the commander of IDF Central Command. The substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition found in the terrorists’ vehicle indicates that Hamas operatives were preparing a large-scale attack targeting civilians. Our soldiers stopped the plot through their courage and resolve. I commend them and pray for a rapid recovery for those injured. I have directed the IDF and security agencies to immediately seal off Hebron and implement further security measures to prevent attacks launched from Judea and Samaria. Reinforced forces are working to disrupt terrorism and conduct broad arrest operations. We will find Hamas terrorists and those who dispatched them, wherever they may be and whenever necessary. There will be nowhere to hide.— Prime Minister of Israel (@IsraeliPM) October 23, 2026
