The “queen bee” cheerleader accused of helping orchestrate her 16-year-old boyfriend’s killing is asking a South Carolina judge to loosen her bond conditions so she can live on a college campus, according to a report.
Gianna Kistenmacher, 18, wants the court to remove her GPS ankle monitor and overnight curfew and allow her to resume using social media. She faces accessory-to-murder charges in connection with Trey Wright’s fatal shooting in June 2025, ABC News 15 reported.
During a court hearing this week, Kistenmacher’s attorney said she hopes to apply to colleges outside the area. She currently attends a local college while living with her family in Myrtle Beach and eventually wants to move into campus housing, according to the outlet.
Wright’s grandmother, Brenda Gore, sharply criticized Kistenmacher in a Facebook post following the hearing, calling her a “little miss entitled b—h.”
“Gianna wants to go to the college of her choice. Trey wasn’t given a choice, or he would have chosen to live his life,” Gore wrote.
Kistenmacher has been permitted to live at home since July 2025.
She was initially placed under full-time house arrest, but the court reduced the restriction in February to an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.
Kistenmacher is also asking to regain access to social media, though her attorney said she would use it only to view college announcements and student alerts rather than post content. The request was outlined in a motion filed in the case.
Her lawyer argued that she has earned the additional freedoms by cooperating fully with prosecutors as they build cases against the eight other defendants charged in Wright’s killing.
That cooperation does not guarantee Kistenmacher a plea agreement. Instead, prosecutors are required to limit how they may use her statements against her, ABC News 15 reported.

The case began on June 24, 2025, when Wright became involved in an online dispute with 19-year-old Devan Raper over Kistenmacher. Wright reportedly told Raper that he objected to the older teen spending time with her, according to Court TV.
Kistenmacher, Raper and the others then allegedly drove to Johnsonville, South Carolina, where Wright lived. Raper is accused of firing two fatal shots at Wright as he approached the vehicle, the outlet reported.
It remains unclear why Kistenmacher allegedly sided with Raper and the others in the killing. Wright’s family has described her as the “queen bee” of the group accused in the crime.
Members of both Kistenmacher’s and Wright’s families attended Monday’s hearing. The judge did not rule on the defense requests, and it was not immediately known when Kistenmacher will return to court.
In her Facebook post, Gore wrote, “Why did these nine pieces of sh— get to decide Trey’s future and think they have the right to continue living a life of luxury?”
“They deserve to be in jail now,” the post continued.
“I hate you all for taking away a child I loved … they should be locked up forever.”
Gore also criticized Braylyn Thompson and Jaden Auclaire, both 18, who are accused of involvement in Wright’s killing. The pair were jailed again this week after allegedly violating their house-arrest conditions and committing additional crimes, according to WPDE.
“These two are out breaking the law again. Should they be allowed to stay out on bond until they kill someone else?” Gore wrote.
