Staff Report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Landon Kirell Coleman, aged 22, currently incarcerated at the Alachua County Jail, is facing 40 charges for breaching his pre-trial release conditions. Allegations suggest Coleman made 139 calls to his domestic battery victim using the facility’s complimentary phone services.

Coleman was taken into custody on November 27, 2025, following accusations of unlawfully entering his former girlfriend’s home, assaulting her by pushing her to the ground, seizing her phone, and subsequently throwing her onto the asphalt outside her dwelling.

An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy indicated that on November 28, 2025, a judge had issued Coleman a strict order to avoid any contact with the victim. However, between December 22 and February 16, Coleman reportedly circumvented this by utilizing the PINs of two fellow inmates to call the victim directly 139 times. The victim expressed distress during numerous calls, repeatedly instructing Coleman to cease communication before terminating the calls herself.

As a result, Coleman now faces 40 additional charges for violating his pre-trial release conditions. Judge Jonathan Ramsey set a $400,000 bail for these new offenses, at $10,000 per count. Coleman, who was already held without bail on previous charges from November, will now have his phone and video call privileges restricted to communications with his legal counsel.
