The University of Illinois Extension’s SNAP-Ed program is stepping up to support families and individuals in need in Champaign County as the holiday season approaches. With a focus on providing essential food supplies, the program is organizing a food drive to gather non-perishable food items.

Beginning Monday and continuing until the eve of Thanksgiving, the SNAP-Ed team will be accepting donations of canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and other shelf-stable products. The drive aims to ensure that local food pantries and families have the necessary staples to enjoy nutritious meals during the holidays.
