Decades after its release, AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” doesn’t simply stand out as the band’s most memorable hit — it’s the one that is somehow still finding new fans to this day. The single regularly appears across a number of Billboard charts, not only in America, but globally, and the track continues to grow.

At the moment, the band’s iconic tune climbs on both of the company’s worldwide rankings, reaching notable new highs this week as it ascends again.

AC/DC’s Classic Rockets Up Global Rankings

“Thunderstruck” surges on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., lifting more than 10 spaces on each tally. The tune rises to Nos. 122 and 150, respectively, reaching new high points on both rosters as it soars.

Last week, on the Billboard Global 200, “Thunderstruck” moved from No. 149 to No. 140 in its one-hundredth frame on the ranking of the most consumed songs all around the planet. That placed it just one rung below its all-time high of No. 139.

At the same time, the track managed a never-before-seen peak on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Just days ago, “Thunderstruck” bolted from No. 191 to No. 169, and this week, it improves its best standing again.

“Thunderstruck” Outpaces Other AC/DC Hits

As “Thunderstruck” climbs, the tune leaps over both “Highway to Hell” and “Shot in the Dark” to become AC/DC’s highest-peaking hit ever on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The track also holds that honor on the Billboard Global 200, where the band has snagged five placements throughout the brief half-decade that Billboard has been publishing the two rankings.

Still a Smash in America

In the U.S., “Thunderstruck” returns to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally, reclaiming the summit by rising just one space. At the same time, the cut reverses course on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, dipping a single spot to No. 3.

Last week, AC/DC’s classic lived inside the top 10 on three tallies. At the moment, it drops from No. 9 to No. 15 on the Rock Digital Song Sales roster, after recently celebrating a decade on that ranking.
