Among all of AC/DC’s hit songs, “Thunderstruck” is the one most likely to appear on Billboard’s rankings. The track has become a classic, the kind millions encounter regularly — either purposefully or via radio or streaming playlists. This week, “Thunderstruck” continues to keep AC/DC on Billboard’s global lists, and as interest in the cut climbs, the tune returns to its all-time peak.

“Thunderstruck” Hits its All-Time Peak Again

“Thunderstruck” lifts from No. 191 to No. 169 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., the ranking of the most consumed songs worldwide, with streams and sales from the U.S. removed. That position, No. 169, remains the all-time peak for “Thunderstruck” on the tally, which it first reached almost exactly one year ago in late July 2024.

July seems to be a huge month for AC/DC and “Thunderstruck” specifically, as the tune launched on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. in July 2022.

AC/DC Rises on the Billboard Global 200

The same smash also improves on the Billboard Global 200, but only slightly, jumping eight spots to No. 141. AC/DC nearly returns “Thunderstruck” to its best showing on that roster, as the cut previously peaked at No. 140 back in May of this year.

Several Smashes in America

While “Thunderstruck” may be AC/DC’s only hit on Billboard’s global tallies, the rockers appear on several homegrown lists. “Thunderstruck” holds a spot inside the top 10 on the Rock Digital Song Sales, Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, and Hard Rock Streaming Songs charts, and it even lands in the runner-up position on both of the latter two tallies.

Other hits by the band are also still performing well in the United States. “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “Back in Black” are present on the list of the most played hard rock-only cuts in the nation this week as well.
