In the vibrant atmosphere of Allegiant Stadium, Wan’Dale Robinson took to the field on Sunday with a clear goal: to surpass the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the season, a personal milestone he had yet to achieve in his career. Facing off against the Raiders, he needed 99 yards to reach this landmark.

By the time the Giants headed into the locker room at halftime, Robinson was just shy of his goal, needing a mere two yards. His remarkable first half saw him make nine receptions, amassing 97 yards. He didn’t keep fans waiting long in the second half, reaching the milestone on the Giants’ third offensive play with a 9-yard catch. Robinson eventually wrapped up the game with an impressive tally of 11 catches for 113 yards, contributing significantly to the Giants’ decisive 34-10 victory.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart couldn’t hold back his admiration for Robinson, expressing his trust and respect for the receiver. “That’s my guy,” Dart enthused. “I have all the confidence in the world in him, and I know that he can beat any coverage. He’s just a guy that competes at such a high level. I’m just really happy for him, because he’s a hell of a player, and he definitely deserves it.”

Despite reaching a personal milestone, Robinson was more elated by the team’s victory. Reflecting on the win, he noted, “These long flights home, they’re not good whenever you have losses. They feel a whole lot better whenever you get a win and you feel like you made a difference and actually helped us get a win.” His words underscore the spirit of a true team player, valuing collective success over individual achievements.

Robinson, after the game, was more ecstatic about finally winning a game than for his milestone.

“These long flights home, they’re not good whenever you have losses,” he said. “They feel a whole lot better whenever you get a win and you feel like you made a difference and actually helped us get a win.”

Prior to this season, Robinson had his best year in 2024 when he caught 93 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns. He now has 92 receptions for 1,014 yards and four TDs this season.

“[I’ve] always kind of been labeled just a slot guy who can only do certain things [and] will never hit certain numbers and things like that. I just wanted to prove myself right knowing that I can do everything out on the football field I want to do.”

Giants interim head coach Mike Kafka, who’s worked with Robinson in an offensive coordinator capacity since he got into the league four years ago, was ecstatic for his receiver.

“Wan’Dale … we came in together, it was our first draft class, so he’s a guy that I know and love,” Kafka said. “To see him continue to grow in that position … he came in primarily as a slot [receiver] and we asked him to play a little bit more outside this year based on injuries. And he just jumped at it.

“I think he took his craft to another level in terms of being an outside perimeter receiver and still have the dynamic ability to play inside and slot and create mismatches and match up opportunities for himself.

“So, to have that day — 11 catches, 113 yards and to eclipse 1,000 yards — what an awesome milestone for him. It’s just kind of the cherry on top for him. I’m super proud of him.”
