The 2025 Major League Baseball draft began Sunday, July 13 at the Coca Cola Roxy in Cumberland, Georgia.
The Atlanta Braves are hosting the 2025 All Star Game, and the MLB draft is held in the same host city as the All Star Game.
There are 20 rounds in the draft.
The first day includes the first three rounds of the draft.
The first six draft positions are determined by a lottery. The order outside the top six are based upon the team’s regular season record from the previous season.
With a 10.2% chance, the Washington Nationals won the draft lottery, which was held at the 2024 Winter Meetings last December.

Note: The Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and New York Yankees do not have a true first-round selection, as they each exceeded the 2024 Competitive Balance Tax by more than $60M.
Each has had their pick moved back ten spots, and out of the first round.
Rounds four-20 of the draft will take place July 14.
