The broadening Iran war has ricocheted across the region and beyond, with nearly every country in the Middle East sustaining damage from missile hits, drone strikes or shrapnel.

Reports indicate that there have been casualties as key embassies, major economic hubs, and critical passageways have shut down.

On Thursday, with the conflict‘s footprint growing, Azerbaijan accused Iran of carrying out a drone attack against it. Iran denied that, as its retaliatory attacks on Israel, other countries and American military bases continued.

The aftermath of the incident has been significant. On Thursday, the nation announced that Iranian drones targeted its Nakhchivan exclave, resulting in injuries to four civilians and damage to an airport facility. Iran has denied any involvement in the drone attack. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev condemned the act, labeling it as “a groundless act of terror and aggression.” He further stated that the military has been directed “to prepare and implement retaliatory measures.”

In response, the southern airspace sector has been closed.
