Luxury Yacht Sinks First Time It Hits the Water: Video

A luxury yacht owner had to swim back to land after his newly launched 85-foot yacht, “The Dolce Vento,” valued at approximately $940,000, sank off northern Turkey’s coast during its first journey.

The yacht capsized and began sinking just a short distance from the shore after being launched for its debut trip. A viral video on social media shows the yacht being guided into the sea and one individual leaping off as it started to go under.

While the exact cause has not been pinpointed, an investigation has commenced, as reported by Boat International, with local reports pointing to a possible “stabilization issue.”

Local reports also said the captain and two crew members swam to shore without injury.

In a repeat account, the yacht’s owner, whose opulent $940,000 vessel, “The Dolce Vento,” hit the water for its inaugural launch, had to swim ashore after an incident off the coast of Northern Turkey.

Upon starting its maiden voyage, the yacht tilted and began going under, just a few hundred feet away from the shore. Social media footage widely shared captured the moment the yacht entered the water and someone jumping off as it submerged.
