In a new partnership announced by NASA, they are collaborating with Netflix to offer NASA+ live broadcasts to its viewers. This includes exciting events like rocket launches, spacewalks, and real-time Earth visuals from the International Space Station.
Rebecca Sirmons, the general manager of NASA+, emphasized in a statement that under the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958, NASA is tasked with widely sharing its space exploration journey. She expressed their mutual dedication with Netflix to usher in a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration, aiming to inspire future generations from their living rooms or directly through their mobile devices.
The statement highlights that Netflix’s platform, which boasts over 700 million users worldwide, will significantly expand NASA’s reach. The new content is set to launch this summer.
Currently, NASA+ is available for free, with no ads, through the NASA app and on the agency’s website. It will remain available for non-Netflix customers, the statement says.
