Starbucks revealed its protein lineup on Tuesday, and the company is going “all in,” according to a press release.
Starbucks locations in the United States and Canada will introduce a Protein Cold Foam topper as part of a fresh selection of Protein Lattes beginning September 29. The lattes feature milk enhanced with extra protein.
“As we welcome customers back to Starbucks, we are committed to revamping our menu with innovative, highly relevant, and exciting offerings that connect with our consumers,” stated Tressie Leiberman, Starbucks’ global chief brand officer, in a statement. “Our latest protein drinks cater to the rising interest in protein consumption in a unique, high-quality, and tasty manner that only Starbucks is known for.”
Starbucks reports that since launching the Protein Cold Foam trials in July, it has been a choice in one out of every seven drinks. Additionally, they note there is a noticeable interest — with the 2025 IFIC Food & Health Survey indicating that 70% of Americans express a desire to include more protein in their diets.

What Is Starbucks Protein Cold Foam?
As described by Starbucks, the foam provides a “creamy, frothy topping that enhances texture and flavor for any cold coffee, tea, or Refresher, delivering a sumptuous, layered experience” and contributes between 19 to 26 grams of protein per Grande size drink.
The foam is available in different flavors such as banana, vanilla, sugar-free vanilla, chocolate, matcha, salted caramel, brown sugar, and plain, along with seasonal favorites like pumpkin and pecan.
The newly launched lattes, on the other hand, pack even more protein: ranging from 27 to 36 grams. These beverages are crafted with the innovative protein-enhanced milk rather than the foam topper.
