'Worrisome': Even Leftists Are Getting Freaked Out by Cory Booker's Melodramatic Antics

The reference he made was an attempt to portray himself as a larger-than-life hero. This stems from the iconic moment in the 1960 movie “Spartacus,” where Roman troops demand that slaves identify their leader. Instead of exposing him, each slave boldly asserts, “I am Spartacus!”

Sure, Cory, you are Spartacus. Also—you will never live that moment down.

He recently increased his dramatic efforts, speaking non-stop for 25 hours on the Senate floor in March in an unusual protest that had no visible impact. In April, he also joined House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for a sit-in on the Capitol steps, which drew little attention.

However, on Tuesday, he escalated even further during a Senate speech, loudly criticizing Donald Trump’s policies and bashing his fellow Democrats for not opposing them more aggressively. (What can they feasibly do? They’re outnumbered.)

According to RedState’s Bonchie, Booker “kept at it, yelling as if charging into battle, imagining himself a hero akin to those landing on Normandy’s shores.”
