Thursday, May 19th Solution Guide

Wordle continues to be a light in a sea of darkness. The news lately has been grim to say the least. War in the Ukraine. The pandemic still causing problems across the globe. Horrific school shootings that leave families and entire communities broken and grieving. Inflation.

Bad omens everywhere you look. I guess for me, Wordle is a comforting little puzzle game. For just a few minutes each day we’re all in the same boat—Republican and Democrat, black or white, man or woman, young and old. We all get the same word. We all share this simple little thing. It’s pretty cool.

It’s not much, but it’s pretty cool.

In any case, let’s take a look at today’s Wordle shall we?

Today’s Wordle #341 Hint & Answer

There be spoilers ahead, ye scurvy dogs!

Avast, a hint: You might be described this way if you were very valuable to someone or to a project or organization.

And the answer is . . . .

Wordle Bot was pretty kind to me today, very approving of my guesses. Carte is a ‘great opening word’ that normally reduces possible solutions to just 73, but got them down to 25 today.

My second guess cut the remaining solutions to just five, but Wordle Bot says I should have guessed spelt, a word I’d be hard-pressed to even think of in the first place. Good to know, WB.

Steak got me a ‘Well done!’ ironically (is the Bot being ironic here or is it just a happy accident?) “This is exactly what I would’ve guessed in this situation,” Wordle Bot gushes. I’ve narrowed my choices down to just one.

And sure enough, asset is the right answer for the win!

Have a great Thursday, folks! One more day until the weekend (and in my home town, one more day until the start of summer—something I am very keen on in light of the recent horrific school shooting in Texas).

Be well, dearest Wordlers. And be safe.
