For the second time this year, Tomorrow X Together runs the show on the main albums chart in their home country, as the deluxe edition of their latest full-length opens in first place.

The South Korean boy group returns to the summit on the Gaon Albums chart, which ranks the bestselling full-lengths, EPs and single albums in South Korea every week, looking at how many copies were shipped to stores, with their just-released collection The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape. The set is a repackaged version of their earlier effort The Chaos Chapter: Freeze with several new songs added. Because it comes with a different name, it counts as a separate entity.

The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape is Tomorrow X Together’s fifth No. 1 on the Gaon Albums chart. They first reached the peak position on the tally in 2019 with their EP The Dream Chapter: Star, and then before that year ended, their debut full-length The Dream Chapter: Magic also worked its way to the highest rung on the list. 2020 saw Tomorrow X Together, also known as TXT, debut another EP titled Minisode1: Blue Hour atop the tally.

Back in June, Tomorrow X Together returned with their sophomore Korean-language album The Chaos Chapter: Freeze, which went right to No. 1 as well.

Only one project from the band, their The Dream Chapter: Eternity EP, missed out on the top spot on the Gaon Albums chart. The title stalled one space shy of the throne. They have released one Japanese-language release, an album called Still Dreaming, which didn’t perform well in South Korea, but which did hit No. 1 on the Japanese weekly ranking.

Six of Tomorrow X Together’s seven releases are present on this week’s Gaon Albums chart, which demonstrates just how popular the group is in South Korea.

The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape is powered by lead single “Loser=Lover,” which debuts at No. 76 on the Gaon Digital chart, the all-encompassing list of the most-consumed songs in South Korea. All 11 tracks featured on the repackaged album are also present on the Gaon Download ranking, with the main single arriving as the second-bestselling track in the nation, coming in behind only Red Velvet’s “Queendom,” which starts at No. 1.

Tomorrow X Together’s The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape is one of five new releases that debuts inside the top 10 on the Gaon Albums chart, beating just-dropped titles from the likes of Red Velvet, Cravity and CIX.
