Warning: Spoilers ahead for season four, part one of Bridgerton.
After a two-year hiatus, Bridgerton has triumphantly returned to Netflix, inviting audiences back into its sumptuous world with the premiere of season four. This latest chapter, divided into two parts, promises to delve into the romantic escapades of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, the second-eldest son in the illustrious family.
The season kicks off with four episodes, where viewers find Benedict drawn into an enchanting mystery. At a masquerade ball, he encounters a captivating woman adorned in silver, sparking a fervent quest to discover her true identity. This pursuit leads him on a path of transformation, as he resolves to abandon his notorious rakish lifestyle. Benedict’s journey takes an unexpected turn when he becomes enamored with Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha, a maid who unbeknownst to him, is the very Lady in Silver he seeks.
Beyond its intricate love stories, Bridgerton is celebrated for its unique musical backdrop, featuring string renditions of contemporary pop songs that enrich the Regency-era ambiance. Previous seasons have enthralled audiences with classical adaptations of hits like Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams,” Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” and Ariana Grande’s “POV.”
Continuing this tradition, season four offers its own collection of reimagined pop tunes. The opening cover sets the scene as Sophie, cloaked in her silver attire and mask, makes a dramatic entrance at Lady Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball, arriving in an elegant carriage. Her awe at the opulent surroundings quickly captures Benedict’s attention, setting the stage for the unfolding drama.
Season four, too, puts a classic spin on well-known songs. Here’s a complete rundown of every pop cover in part one.
