Hunt for ‘Elon Musk lookalike’ after man was racially abused in shopping centre 

A man who looks extremely like Elon Musk is being tracked down by the police after a member of the public was racially abused. 

Northumbria Police took to social media to launch an appeal for anyone with information to come forward. 

An image of the person shows a white male, who has dark brown hair, with extraordinarily similar facial features to the Tesla boss.

In a social media post, Northumbria Police said: ‘We’re investigating a suspected hate crime in Northumberland and need your help.

‘It was reported that a 28-year-old man was in the Forum Way shopping centre when he was racially abused by a member of the public nearby.

‘The victim was left distressed by the incident and contacted police.

‘Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation, we have identified a man we’d like to speak to. 

‘He was in the area at the time and could have valuable information that can assist our investigation.

‘We would like to reassure the public that racism will not be tolerated and action will be taken to bring offenders to justice.’

The suspected hate crime took place at Forum Way shopping centre in Cramlington on December 16 at 7.30pm. 

Social media users were quick to point out how much the man resembles the Twitter CEO.

One person joked: ‘Has anyone contacted Elon Musk for comment?’

Another user commented: ‘Is that you @elonmusk?’

Another replied: ‘Escaped in a Tesla,’ with a laughing face emoji.
