Akon has accused his former business partner Devyne Stephens of trying to freeze his New York assets out of spite.

Last month, Stephens filed the lawsuit to have some of the rapper’s assets stolen, but in court documents obtained by Page Six, Akon’s attorneys say he is only trying to “damage Akon’s reputation out of spite, while he is engaged in some of the most consequential and ambitious projects of his entrepreneurial career.”

Stephens filed a lawsuit against Akon, saying he screwed him out of $750,000 from a 2018 settlement agreement and $3 million in royalties.
