Who is Logan Marshall-Green?
Logan was born in Charleston, South Carolina USA, on 1 November 1976 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor, film producer and director, who has appeared in close to 50 movies and TV series, while he’s perhaps known best for his portrayal of the main character Will in the 2015 mystery thriller movie “The Invitation”. It was directed by Karyn Kusama, also starred Emayatzy Corinealdi and Michiel Huisman, and follows a man who has accepted his former wife’s invitation to a dinner party; the movie won four of the 19 awards for which it was nominated.
Logan’s also known for his resemblance to the British actor and film producer Tom Hardy.
Early life and education
Logan was raised in Cranston, Rhode Island alongside his twin brother Taylor, by their mother Lowry Marshall who taught theatre at Brown University; the boys’ father was also a professor, but it’s said that he wasn’t around during their upbringing.
Logan was mostly interested in journalism while growing up, but also played sports while attending Barrington High School; he wasn’t much into acting during his teenage years, but was still a member of his school’s drama club, appearing in a couple of plays performed at the school.
Logan matriculated in 1994, and then enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he wrote for its newspaper “The Daily Beacon”.
Logan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1998, and then practiced acting at National Theatre Institute; he eventually enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, from which he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting in 2002.
Roles in TV series
Logan made his debut TV series appearance in the 2003 episode “Soulless” of the mystery crime drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, and gained recognition in 2005, when cast to play Richard Heller in the action crime drama “24”. It was created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, starred Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Carlos Bernard, and follows Jack Bauer who has little time to stop terrorists from destroying his country; the series aired from 2001 to 2010 and won 94 awards, including 20 Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 207 other awards.
Some of Logan’s notable performances in the remainder of the 2000s were in the romantic comedy drama “The O. C.”, the action crime mystery “Traveler”, and the action crime drama “Dark Blue”.
In 2016, Logan played the lead character Mac Conway aka Quarry, in the hit war crime drama “Quarry”, created by Michel D. Fuller and Graham Gordy, and which also starred Jodi Balfour and Damon Herriman. The series follows the Vietnam veteran Quarry who has just returned home to Memphis, and has begun working as a hitman; it was nominated for a Motion Picture Sound Editors Award for Best Sound Editing – Long Form Music in Television.
Three of Logan’s most recent TV series roles have been in the 2019 episode “Part Four” of the biographical crime mini-series “When They See Us”, eight episodes of the 2020 thriller drama “The Defeated”, and 14 episodes of the 2022 mystery crime drama “Big Sky”.
Roles in movies
Logan made his debut film appearance in the 2004 short drama “The Kindness of Strangers”, and gained recognition in the following year, after having been cast to play Lieutenant Paul Colvin in the action war drama “The Great Raid”. It was directed by John Dahl, starred Benjamin Bratt, Joseph Fiennes and James Franco, and follows a group of Rangers who have gone on a mission during World War II, trying to rescue 500 American soldiers from a camp.
Some of Logan’s notable performances in the remainder of the 2000s were in the 2007 historical fantasy drama “Across the Universe”, the 2008 crime drama “Blue Blood”, and the 2009 action crime drama “Brooklyn’s Finest”.
The year 2012 saw him portray Charlie Holloway, one of the main characters in the critically acclaimed mystery science fiction “Prometheus”, directed by Ridley Scott, and which also starred Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender. The film follows a team of humans who have landed on a distant moon after having discovered a strange structure there, and it won six of the 54 awards for which it was nominated, including an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
Three of Logan’s most recent film roles have been in the comedy “How It Ends”, the thriller drama “Intrusion” both in 2021, and the 2022 historical romantic drama “Redeeming Love”.
Logan has been featured in a couple of documentaries, including the 2012 short series “HBO First Look” and the 2012 short video “Weyland Corp Archive: The Making of ‘Prometheus’”.
Logan wrote and directed the 2019 drama movie “Adopt a Highway”, and produced the 2019 video game “Telling Lies”.
Logan has made a guest appearance in a number of talk-shows, such as “Up Close with Carrie Keagan”, “Big Morning Buzz Live”, and “Janela Indiscreta”.

Logan has been nominated for eight awards, winning one: a 2019 Golden Joystick Award for Best Performer, for “Telling Lies”.
Love life and relationships
Logan started dating the New Zealand actress Anna Paquin in 2004, and they were together for around a year; he then dated the American actress Kelli Garner, but they broke up after a couple of months.
In 2008, Logan began dating Marisa Tomei, an Oscar-winning American actress with close to 100 credits to her name, and there were rumors circulating the internet in 2011, claiming that the two were engaged; they have both denied this, and in any case broke-up in 2012.
Logan married the Mexican-American actress Diane Gaeta in 2012, in a private ceremony attended by only the closest of their friends and family members. Diane gave birth to their son Tennessee Logan Marshall-Green in 2014, but she and Logan divorced on 23 July 2020, after she’d accused him of being unfaithful.
As of March 2022, Logan seems to be single, was once married to Diane Gaeta, and has a son with her.
Hobbies and other interests
Logan is quite active on Instagram, and seems to be enjoying the attention which he’s receiving from his close to 100,000 followers; he’s uploaded over 300 pictures onto the network, most of which have been taken during his everyday life. Photography is one of his main hobbies, and some of his Instagram pictures have been taken by him.
Logan loves to travel, and has been to various US states for both work and pleasure; he’s also travelled to Europe and Australia on a number of occasions, and his dream travel destination is Reykjavik, Iceland.
Logan is a lover of animals, and his two pet dogs can be seen featured in a couple of his Instagram pictures.
Logan has his own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Johnny Depp, Will Smith and Angelina Jolie, while a couple of his favorite movies include the franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Bad Boys” and “Independence Day”.
