Russell and Nina met while playing basketball for UCLA, he on the men’s team and she on the women’s. After college, their relationship flourished, and they moved to Oklahoma when Russell joined the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Russell proposed to Nina on September 4, 2014, and enlisted the help of renowned ring designer, Jason of Beverly Hills, to create a special 6-piece elongated cushion cut ring worth $700,000. The couple exchanged vows on August 29, 2015, in an outdoor ceremony at the famous Beverly Hills Hotel.

For their big day, Russell donned a classic tuxedo from Tom Ford, and Nina looked stunning in a gown by Vera Wang. Nina and Russell are proud parents of three children. After nearly two years of marriage, Nina and Russell welcomed their first child i.e. son Noah Russell Westbrook in May of 2017, with the news being shared via an Instagram post by Nina.
In 2018, the couple shared in a YouTube video posted by the Oklahoma City Thunder that they were expecting not one, but two daughters. And sure enough, on November 17, 2018, Jordyn and Skye Westbrook entered the world, completing the Westbrook family.
Meet Nina Earl, Russell Westbrook’s Wife
Nina Earl is a former UCLA basketball player, licensed therapist, and businesswoman. Born in Pomona, California, she was raised by her father, Michael Earl, a four-time Emmy-winning puppeteer, and mother, Jennifer Lyons. Nina attended Diamond Ranch High School where she was a multi-sport athlete and excelled academically. As a basketball player, she led her high school team to two CIF championship games, earning CIF MVP and All-American honors three times.

Nina went on to study Psychology and English Literature at UCLA, where she played college basketball and met Westbrook. She has a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and owns a boutique in Oklahoma City called “The Little Ark,” which sells baby items and products for moms, as well as a clothing line for babies and kids.
