Powerlifting lost a giant today, but more people lost a great friend, husband, father, and grandfather. Mike Wolfe was the most selfless and genuine guy you could ever know. His riches were found in what he gave to others and the intangible return. A real St. Marys Roughrider. pic.twitter.com/fdr5o89xRT

According to the interview on the Critical bench, he was the person who introduced him to the sport of powerlifting. After that, he started to continue with the sport, but he had almost given up after not reaching his targeted goal.
But it changed when his brother-in-law wanted to demonstrate some weightlifting techniques in late 2002. Since then, he did not look back and continued on his powerlifting journey.
He began his training at Westside under the direction of Lou and George Halbert after getting encouragement from his brother-in-law. After that, he earned a name for himself in the field.
