Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli, a well-known bidder from The Block, has opted for a more understated ride, swapping his extravagant $800,000 sports car for a $40,000 Audi. This change comes after criticism that he was excessively showcasing his luxurious lifestyle.
The 35-year-old millionaire, who has made a name for himself in the property investment world and is celebrated for his impressive collection of high-end sports cars, unveiled his new choice of vehicle in an Instagram post on Saturday. The photo captured Portelli, beaming with pride, next to the sleek Audi that now joins his collection.
Adding a touch of humor to the reveal, the Audi’s rear window sported a cheeky sticker declaring, “My other car is a Lamborghini,” suggesting that while he may be dialing down the flashiness, his love for luxury remains intact.
He captioned the snap with some telling words: ‘A couple of butt-hurt people about my recent vehicle purchases.
In the caption, Portelli explained his decision: “So I’ve decided to tone it down and drive my little Audi A1 for a while.” Despite this shift, it seems the Audi isn’t entirely devoid of extravagance.

Observant fans quickly pointed out the unique license plate on the Audi, which simply reads ’20.’ This detail did not go unnoticed, with some suggesting that the plate itself might hold more value than the car. One follower humorously remarked, “I think your registration plate is worth more than my car,” while another noted that a similar plate recently sold for an impressive $2.54 million.

It comes after Adrian gave fans a glimpse of his lavish car collection earlier this month when he shared a video of the garage at one of his homes.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, he revealed five vehicles were parked in the large carport, including a Lamborghini, high tech dune buggy, and a gold buggy.
Adrian, who first shot to fame as a buyer on The Block and has a well-known taste for flashy cars, also owns a McLaren Senna which he revealed earlier this year.
The wealthy property investor posted a gallery of photos to Instagram showcasing the rare vehicle which is housed in his high-rise penthouse overlooking Melbourne.
