As the LPGA concluded its 75th season, history was made when Jeeno Thitikul triumphed at the CME Group Tour Championship. Her four-stroke victory was sealed with a birdie on the final hole, marking a new record for the lowest scoring average in LPGA history. Thitikul’s season average was an impressive 68.681, narrowly surpassing Annika Sorenstam’s 68.697 set back in 2002.

Beyond the historical achievement, Thitikul also secured a significant financial reward. She claimed a $4 million prize from the CME Group Tour Championship, the largest payout in women’s golf, which boosted her total season earnings to $7,578,300. Her performance in the season’s finale more than doubled her annual income.

Hailing from Thailand, Thitikul held off fellow Thai golfer Pajaree Anannarukarn to clinch the title. Anannarukarn made a spirited push in the final round but ultimately fell short. This victory marks Thitikul’s third win of the season. Anannarukarn, who took home $1 million for her runner-up finish, achieved her best result of the year. The tournament earnings accounted for two-thirds of her $1.5 million season total.

Thitikul’s outstanding play earned her the 2025 Rolex Player of the Year Award and the Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average. Her nearly $7.6 million in earnings this season dwarfed those of the runner-up, Australia’s Minjee Lee, who earned just over $3.9 million.

The 22-year-old Thitikul boasts an impressive track record, with 65 top-25 finishes, including 55 top-ten finishes, since joining the LPGA in 2022. She has won seven tournaments, amassing $17.4 million in career earnings to date.

Meanwhile, American golfer Nelly Korda ranked fifth overall in the season standings, the highest position for a U.S. player. Despite winning seven events last year, Korda did not claim any titles this season, mirroring a rare feat last seen when Tiger Woods achieved it during the 2010 season.

But this is Thitikul’s day to shine. She summed it up best while celebrating her victory: “Standing here with the trophy on Sunday, it’s just like more than I really, really could ask for, for sure.”
