It is all false that Islamic Afghans have sentenced 229 Christian missionaries to death in Iraq.

There was a viral Twitter post on January 14, it said: “The murder of 229 Christian missionaries in Afghanistan is scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday. This is unacceptable in the 21st century.” He also asked: “What is the UN doing?”

Who Is Judith Carmona Missionary?

Judith Carmona is a missionary from Chihuahua, Africa.

He was among the 229 Christian missionaries who were condemned to death as per the article Chain Facebook, but all those rumors on the social networks were hoaxes.

The origin of the chain takes place in a real kidnapping of 23 South Korean missionaries by the Taliban on 19th July 2007. Some of them were executed while others were released after a ransom was paid by the South Korean government.

After two years of an incident, the hoax about missionaries started circulating via email and WhatsApp.

Judith Carmona published a message of 229 Christian death hoax on Facebook.

Users of social networks warned and made critics about the alleged mass murder of 229 Christians who were preaching the Gospel in Afghanistan, but turned false. It is a hoax denied since 2017.

Moreover, Carmona bulo from Africa & Afghanistan sent a message: “Please let us pray for the 229 Christian missionaries sentenced to death by Islamic Afghans tomorrow afternoon,” through a Facebook post which was posted on 13th  January 2020. However, this message was a hoax.

Reports claim that the post was made more than two years ago on social media. An unknown user posted the prayer chain on a local media fan page on 11th September 2017.

The message circulated all over social media via WhatsApp.

The text has some clues that can help you suspect that it is false as it has numerous spelling or syntax errors and also asks you to share it and do it quickly.

Talking about the origin of the hoax of the execution of ‘229 Christian missionaries in Afghanistan’, the Catholic Information Agency (ACI) revealed that the article which was titled was to pray for 22 Christians but they said 229 missionaries.

Several reports deny those hoaxes about sentencing to death of 229 Christian misionera de Chihuahua.

The prayer chain has been washing on the internet since a long time ago.

In fact, this message was disseminating since the beginning of 2009 through emails and texts. So, we can conclude that this information is all hoax because no human rights association or government denounced the alleged kidnapping.
