Linda Thompson Wiki Biography

Linda Thompson was born on 23 May 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, and is perhaps best remembered for being Elvis Presley’s girlfriend, but more importantly known in her own right as a beauty queen, actress and songwriter.

So how rich is Linda Thompson? Sources estimate that Linda has a net worth of $25 million, such wealth having been accumulated by her own efforts over more than 40 years in the entertainment industry.

Linda Thompson Net Worth $25 Million

At first Linda Thompson was known for credits from pageants, secondly for her relationship with Elvis, then when she became an actress, and finally when she started writing songs in 1985. Linda Thompson became “Miss Shelby County” in 1969, when she was just 19 years old. After that, several more other achievements followed in beauty pageants: “Miss Mid-South Fair” (1970), “Miss Liberty Bowl”, “MSU’s Homecoming Court”, “Miss Okra”, “Memphis State’s Golf Queen”, and “Miss Memphis State University” in 1970. There are no doubts that Linda Thompson became popular because of these awards, which also started building Linda ‘s net worth.

Linda Thompson’s older brother Sam  was one of Elvis Presley`s body guards on tour from 1972 to 1976, and then his personal body guard until Elvis died in 1977. Linda first became widely known when she was Elvis’ girlfriend from 1972 to 1976. However, their relationship was portrayed very publically in the 1981 TV movie “Elvis and the Beauty Queen” with Stephanie Zimbalist as Thompson and Don Johnson as Elvis. Linda also appeared in a couple of documentaries about Elvis Presley`s life.

As regards her career in acting, Linda Thompson came into prominence in 1977, when she appeared in the TV series “Hee Haw”, and in which she starred until 1992. Thompson also added considerable revenues to her net worth by appearing in episodes of the TV series’ “The Fall Guy”, “Fantasy Island”, and “Starsky and Hutch”, and by starring in the popular American TV drama series “Beverly Hills, 90210”, created by Darren Star, E. Duke Vincent and Aaron Spelling, and which aired on Fox from 1990 to 2000.

Moreover, Linda Thompson net worth became larger when she portrayed some other characters in “Good Ole Boys”, “The Arena”, “Rabbit Test”, “Three on a Meathbook”, and “The Bodyguard”; Linda wrote the lyrics for the latter`s theme song called “I Have Nothing”, and the song became known worldwide as it was performed by the famous singer Whitney Houston.

Linda has a great voice herself,  and has voiced some of the characters of “Charlie Brown”, “It`s a Mystery”, and “Be My Valentine” among others.

Linda Thompson’s debut in songwriting was featured with the single “Our Perfect Song”, which was designed for Kenny Rogers`s album named “The Heart of the Matter”. Linda Thompson’s net worth has continued increasing since then partly because of songwriting, as she has also worked in collaboration with such composers as Steve Dorff, David Foster and Richard Marx. Together with David Foster, Linda wrote “Grown up Christmas List”.

As regards Linda`s personal life, Elvis Presley has not been her only partner. In 1980 Linda started dating the famous athlete Bruce Jenner, and they were married from 1981 to 1983, welcoming two children, named Brandon and Brody. Her longest relationship was with the composer David Foster, to whom she was married from 1991 to 2005.
