Shane consults, writes, and teaches on regulation, leadership, and change management.

He has held Honorary Senior Teaching Fellowships at Warwick Business School, the University of South Wales, and the University College London.

Similarly, he attended Harvard Kennedy School  to study Strategic Management of Regulator Enforcement Agencies. Further, he did his MBA from Ulster Business School, and Service and Leadership from Washington Ireland Programme.

Shane has 20 years of experience delivering effective strategy, leadership development, and organizational improvement programs, as well as regulatory systems, in the public and private sectors.

He works with health and care leaders and agitators to create the conditions and capabilities that deliver (and sustain) high-performing, joyful teams, and organizations.

Carmichael is specifically responsible for our Strategy and Organization Development service.

Shane is a lecturer in Healthcare Leadership and changes at Warwick Business School when he is not at Kaleidoscope. He is also a member of the UK Advisory Board for safer Gambling.

He spent eight years as the General Medical Council’s Assistant Director for Strategy Engagement, and Communication before joining Kaleidoscope.

Prior to that, he was a senior manager in Accenture’s Change Management practice and Human Performance in Public Service practice.

Outside of that, Shane spends as much time as he can with friends and family, practicing his downward dog, playing football at an increasingly slow pace, being the worst kind of MAMIL on two wheels, going to gigs, and supporting Manchester United.
