Boddie Houston’s husband, Brian Houston resigned from his position as founder of Megachurch, Hillsong. He step down, according to 9news, following an internal probe into two incidences that the church claimed violated its code of conduct.

The Hillsong board of directors acknowledged Mr. Houston’s resignation as global senior pastor. They also thanked him and his wife Bobbie for their contributions to the church.

“We recognize there will be a lot of emotion around this news, and we all feel it,” the Hillsong board stated in a statement this afternoon.

Hillsong announced last week that an internal review displays two occurrences involving Mr. Houston, where he violated his moral code. According to the report, Mr. Houston reportedly sent improper texts to a staff member a decade ago.

Similarly, he was also involved in a more recent incident at a conference when he entered a woman’s room after combining medication and drink.

Reports suggest that he has had an excess amount of anti-anxiety medications when he knocked on the door of a hotel room that was not his.

“Over the previous ten years, we have regretfully dealt with two accusations made against Pastor Brian,” the church stated in a statement last Friday.

“He instantly apologized to the individual. We also worked closely with Pastor Brian to ensure he obtained expert counseling to lessen his need for this medicine, which he did.”

Mr. Houston first stood down from his position in January to defend himself against an accusation that he covered up his father’s child sexual abuse.

In October, he was accused of hiding a significant indictable offense committed by another person.
