During her time at Iowa, Caitlin Clark captivated the basketball community with her dynamic play and remarkable ability to sink challenging three-pointers. Her electrifying performances quickly earned her a reputation as a standout player. It became increasingly clear during her final college season that she was destined to be the top pick in the draft.

Indeed, the Indiana Fever chose Clark as the first overall pick in the 2024 draft, although the team faced restrictions on her initial salary. Her rookie contract totaled $338,056 over four years, and she has so far earned $154,601 from her WNBA salary.

However, a significant shift is on the horizon following a new collective bargaining agreement between the WNBA and its players. Salaries across the league are set to rise, and Clark will benefit from this increase as well.

According to Spotrac, her earnings for the 2026 season are projected to reach approximately $528,846, marking an impressive increase of over 577% from her 2025 salary.

The newly negotiated agreement also introduces an innovative feature called EPIC, standing for Epic Performance on Initial Contract. Typically, rookies sign a four-year contract, but those who achieve specific milestones—such as securing the MVP title, Rookie of the Year, or a place on an All-WNBA Team—become eligible for a three-year contract extension, allowing them to bypass the fourth year of their rookie deal and earn more.

Clark, having clinched the Rookie of the Year award and secured a spot on the All-WNBA First Team in her debut season, will have the chance to negotiate a new contract in 2027, potentially boosting her WNBA earnings significantly.

Clark has been savvy off the court, too, so she’s going to earn quite a bit more than her WNBA salary. She’s signed several notable endorsement deals, such as appearing in State Farm and Capital One commercials. Clark also inked an eight-year, $28 million contract with Nike shortly after entering the league.

WNBA players have long been overdue for a raise. Clark’s popularity was a catalyst to this new agreement getting done. It’ll pay off for her—and all of her fellow players.
