Bill Rolls is a talented ceramic artist competing on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2026. He runs Bill Rolls Ceramics, a business specializing in mocha-diffused pottery and dog sculptures located in Herefordshire. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Bill dedicates time as a volunteer teaching assistant.

His passion for ceramics ignited during his teenage years, prompting him to pursue Contemporary Crafts at Hereford College, focusing on ceramics for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Post-graduation, Bill rooted himself in Hereford, where he established a studio and became an integral part of the town’s thriving artistic community.

Under the mentorship of Melanie Brown and Dylan Bowen, Bill has been crafting pottery for a few years, honing his skills in form and slip finishing. Additionally, John Huggins has guided him in creating larger garden pots, expanding the scale of his artistic repertoire.

Exhibitions

Bill’s creations have graced numerous exhibitions. In 2023, he displayed his work at events such as the Malvern Spring, Bucks Art Weeks, Three Choirs Gloucester, Malvern Autumn, Pots in the Pens Melton Mowbray, Winter Market Three Pools, Wye Valley Makers Market, and Christmas at the Silver Workshop.

Continuing his exhibition journey in 2024, Bill participated in the Malvern Spring, Bucks Art Weeks, Three Choirs Worcester, Hereford Indie Food Festival, Herefordshire Art Weeks, Malvern Autumn Show, Pots in the Pens Melton Mowbray, and the Ledbury Christmas Market. He also showcased his work at the Dore Abbey Arts in 2025.
