Shelbi Schauble is a dedicated meteorologist currently serving as a morning weathercaster at KSN 16/KODE 12 in Joplin, Missouri. Since embarking on her meteorological career in the summer of 2024, she has reported on a wide range of weather phenomena, from tornado alerts to unprecedented snowfall.

Schauble’s educational journey began at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, California. She pursued higher education at UCLA, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs in 2023. Following her graduation, Shelbi delved into meteorology, enrolling in a three-year broadcast meteorology certification program at Mississippi State University during the summer of 2023.

Currently, Shelbi is advancing her studies through Mississippi State University’s online platform, working towards a certificate in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences. She is on track to achieve certification as a broadcast meteorologist by August 2026 and will also receive accreditation from the National Weather Association.

Shelbi’s passion for athletics was fostered early on, inspired by her father, Chris, a seasoned marathoner and triathlete who completed three Ironman races, including the prestigious Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

During her time at West Ranch High School, Shelbi excelled in sports, competing in cross country for three seasons (2015-17) and in track and field during 2018 and 2019. She achieved notable success as a two-time Foothill League triple jump champion, securing victories in 2019 with a leap of 36-4.5 and in 2018 with a jump of 36-7.5.

In her senior year, she reached a season-best in the triple jump with a mark of 1.62m (38-1) at the Trevor Habberstad Invite, where she placed first. Her athletic repertoire also included the long jump, as well as participation in the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams.

At UCLA, Shelbi competed in track & field. She competed in one meet for the Bruins in 2021 and earned the victory in the triple jump at the Rafer/JJK Invite with a mark of 10.58m (34-08.50).
