Bridal designer Carol “Pui Man” Li is competing in the 16th season of The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4. In GBBO 2025, contestants will face off under the famous baking tent, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith watching closely, joined by hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.
Pui Man took to Instagram to share her excitement: “After keeping it a secret for so long, I can finally say I baked in the iconic Bake Off tent. It was an unbelievably incredible experience, and undoubtedly the most challenging thing I have ever done.”
Having applied for Bake Off four times before receiving the call from the producers, Pui Man is eager not just for the renowned Hollywood handshake but is setting her sights on the show’s first-ever Hollywood hug.
Regarding her participation, Pui Man expressed that she excels in everything she has learned and practiced. Yet, as a perfectionist, she often feels frustrated with anything less than flawless.
She added: “I dreamed about myself in the tent all the time and I dreamed about meeting some ex-bakers all the time. I was at home when I got the phone call from one of the team, and I was shocked because I had applied four times and no success in the past.”
After the announcement, she wrote on Instagram: “The secret’s out! After keeping quiet for ages, I can proudly say I baked in the legendary Bake Off tent. It was an absolutely amazing experience, and it was the hardest thing I had ever done.”
