Hugh Jackman is keeping himself busy with charity work following his shock split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The Marvel star, 54, shared a beaming photo of himself to Instagram on Thursday evening wearing a Global Citizens t-shirt to promote a worthy cause.

In the image, Hugh is seen smiling through heartache as he sits down and poses in the black tee emblazoned with a graphic red circle. 

‘Let’s go Global Citizen festival! This weekend in NYC, whether it’s raining or sunny. If you’ve got tickets, enjoy your time in Central Park,’ he captioned with the picture.

Jackman has hosted several festivals in the past and supports the movement dedicated to ending extreme poverty immediately through lasting change.

The 54-year-old Marvel actor posted a cheerful photo on Instagram Thursday evening, dressed in a Global Citizen t-shirt to support a meaningful cause. In the snapshot, Hugh is smiling despite his heartache, sitting and posing in a black tee featuring a distinctive red circle.

In 2017, he took to the stage with Deborra and discussed what the noble cause meant to them. 

Many of Hugh’s followers were quick to thank him for his generous support of the worthy cause. 

‘Thank you so much, as always, for your incredible support!’ wrote Global Citizen’s page.

‘Love ya brother. So proud of your incredible work,’ another person added.

‘Let’s go Global Citizen festival! This weekend in NYC, rain or shine. If you’ve got tickets, have fun in Central Park,’ Hugh captioned the image.

It comes after Jackman and Furness announced they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage.

‘We have been fortunate to share nearly 30 years together in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our path is changing now, and we have decided to part ways to focus on our personal growth,’ the couple shared in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on Friday.

‘Our family remains, and will always be, our top priority. We’re entering this new phase with gratitude, love, and kindness. We deeply appreciate your understanding and respecting our privacy as our family goes through this transition.’

The former couple signed the statement as ‘Deb and Hugh Jackman,’ adding: ‘This is the sole statement either of us will make.’ 

The Australian couple share two children together; Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.
