Jessica Harriott-Kerr, an enthusiastic amateur sewer, is also a participant in The Great British Sewing Bee 2025. She has a passion for vintage fashion and appreciates the stories behind them. For Jessica, sewing is not just a hobby but a creative outlet and a form of self-expression.
Currently, Jessica holds the position of Head of Communications at ITV News. Prior to this, she worked as a Press and PR Manager. Her earlier experience includes being a PR Manager at The Telegraph from September 2017 to July 2019. In 2018, she earned recognition as one of PRWeek UK’s 30 Under 30.
Jessica embarked on her career in communications and public relations as a Creative Project Manager at MailOnline in 2013. After nearly three years, she transitioned to a role as Marketing and Communications Executive at iProspect, a prominent performance marketing agency in the UK.
Aside from journalism and media, Jess is also interested in garment making and construction. Starting her sewing journey around the age of 11, Jess used to use leftover scraps to make things for her sister. Rekindling her love for sewing during lockdown, she hasn’t stopped since. She is currently a part time sewist living in South London. She runs Sew Relative, a sewing account, with her sister Eleanor Harriott-Kerr.
Jess graduated with a BA in Politics and International Studies from University of Warwick in 2012. She attended Kendrick School.

33-year-old Jessica Harriott-Kerr is a contestant on Series 11 of The Great British Sewing Bee, presented by Sara Pascoe. The contestants will be tasked with creating different garments each week, while being judged by Esme Young and Patrick Grant.
She wrote on Instagram: “Jess is one of the sewers on this year’s Great British Sewing Bee — and yes, I’ve been keeping it quiet for over a year, which frankly deserves a prize of its own.
“It was, hands down, one of the wildest things I’ve ever done — intense, joyful, completely surreal — and I cannot wait for you to see it all unfold.
“The sewing room is every bit as iconic as it looks, and I was lucky enough to share it with the most brilliant, talented, hilarious bunch of people. You’re going to love them.”
