Lana Del Rey caused quite a stir among fans when she was seen taking on the role of a waitress at a Waffle House in Alabama this past summer. Now, she’s expressing her wish that her recent album would have generated as much excitement as that unforgettable incident.

The 38-year-old singer, with an estimated fortune of $30 million, shared her thoughts in a cover feature for the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

Lana’s ninth studio album, “Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” released in March of this year, received high praise from critics but debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 115,000 album-equivalent units.

In July, images and videos of Lana, fully dressed in Waffle House attire and seemingly working a shift, emerged and quickly went viral on social media.

The 38-year-old singer, boasting a net worth of $30 million, candidly shared her thoughts in a cover story for The Hollywood Reporter’s latest edition.

Lana was asked if she was surprised by the frenzy and got candid as she said: ‘I wish my album had gone as viral.

‘I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning — some from folks I had not heard from for 10 years. “Saw your picture at the Waffle House!” I was like, “Did you hear the new album?”‘

As for the reason Lana was seen working there has remained a bit of a mystery since the viral moment, there was a bit of explanation in the article.

According to THR reporter Michael O’Connell, Lana had been visiting Florence, Alabama with her brother and sister in July.

They found themselves in the same booth at the Waffle House there for seven days before an offer was made to sport the uniform.

Lana explained: ‘We were on our third hour, and the servers asked, “Do you guys want shirts?” Hell yeah! We were thrilled.’

As the Summertime Sadness singer has enjoyed a career lasting nearly two decades, she has been cited often as an inspiration to the current generation’s biggest acts including Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish.

Lana reflected on how she can digest paving the way for this era’s singer/songwriters as she said: ‘Billie and Olivia are such good people, it’s f***ing awesome. I love them and their music.

‘It’s not like you have to be nice to be good [in music]. But, if you happen to be nice and a great singer, it makes me happy for the culture. I always had girls telling me [things like] that.

‘Maybe not the critics or anybody else — but singers I knew, no matter how big or small, would write me letters. I always felt like the older sister to pretty much everyone I ever met.’

Lana is currently in the midst of a fall your as her next date will be in Huntsville, Alabama on Thursday.

The relatively short 10 date run will conclude in Charleston, West Virginia on October 5.
