Mirra Andreeva, whose full name is Mirra Aleksandrovna Andreeva, is a professional tennis player from Russia. She has achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 6 in the world, as recorded on March 17, 2025, and has reached up to No. 18 in doubles by March 31, 2025. Hailing from Krasnoyarsk, she has clinched three singles titles on the WTA Tour, including two at the prestigious WTA 1000 level. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she secured a silver medal in women’s doubles with her partner Diana Shnaider.
Coming from Krasnoyarsk, Mirra started her tennis journey at the age of 6. She relocated to Sochi, and later to Cannes, France, with her sister Erika to establish a training foundation under coaches Jean-Rene Lisnard and Jean-Christophe Faurel. Her current coach is Conchita Martinez, and she is managed by IMG.
Mirra entered the professional arena at the W15 ITF Circuit event in Sharm El-Sheikh in February 2022. She has claimed six singles titles on the ITF Circuit. In her junior career, she was a finalist in the girls’ category at the Australian Open in 2023. That same year, she reached the Round of 16 in Beijing (losing to Rybakina), which marked her entry into the Top 50 rankings and earned her the accolade of WTA Newcomer of the Year.
On October 8, 2024, she made her Top 20 debut in the PIF WTA Rankings after reaching the Beijing quarterfinals, becoming the youngest player to be ranked in the Top 20 since 17-year-old Nicole Vaidisova in October 2006. The Andreeva sisters played their first professional match against each other in the second round of the 2024 Wuhan Open after both sisters secured victories in their opening matches. It was Erika who got the better of her younger sibling Mirra with a clinical 6-3, 6-1 victory.
“It was tough for both of us,” Erika said in an interview afterward. “First experience, and both of us were happy it happened at a big tournament. But I’m not sure we enjoyed it.”
According to the Women’s Tennis Association, Mirra and Erika became the third set of sisters to face each other in a WTA main draw in the past 10 years. The last such meeting came in the second round of Lexington 2020, the 31st and final installment of the rivalry between Serena and Venus Williams. Serena won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 and led the final head-to-head record 19-12.
Czech twins Karolina and Kristyna also played each other 10 times at professional level, with five wins apiece — but Kristyna won their only match in a main draw 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(7) in the 2019 Birmingham second round.
