Todd Flood is a lawyer based in Detroit, Michigan, serving as the managing partner of Flood Law, PLLC, a top law firm in Metro Detroit focusing on Criminal and Civil Litigation. He also hosts the show “Behind the Bench”.
Prior to founding Flood Law in 2002, Flood served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Wayne County. During his tenure, he was promoted to Principal Attorney, overseeing the Drug House Unit under Mike Duggan’s leadership.
Since his departure from the Prosecutor’s Office, Flood has gained recognition for handling complex civil cases, including wrongful death lawsuits, civil rights infringement, and whistleblower cases.
His work has earned him several recognitions, including Top Lawyer in the State of Michigan, A Fellow of the State Bar – an honor earned by less than one percent of the Bar – a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar, recognition from Crain’s Detroit Business as a top lawyer, multiple awards in the Super Lawyers publication, and a Lawyers Weekly Award as one of the Top Ten Lawyers of the Year in the State.

Flood graduated from Lake Superior State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and polictical science in 1987. He earned his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law.

Documents requested by MLive-The Flint Journal from the state show that Flood Law had been paid $8,194,877 as of March 2019, — payments that include the cost of special assistant prosecutors and legal support staff, investigators, information technology related costs, experts and costs associated with identifying, collecting and producing electronically stored information.
Flood left his position at the Attorney General’s Office in April 2019. Courtney Covington, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General’s Office, said Flood’s firm, which included a team of lawyers and investigators, was paid $8.5 million in total.
