Ricardo Garcia stands as a distinguished criminal defense attorney based in Los Angeles, California. He holds the position of public defender for the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office, recognized as the oldest and largest of its kind in the nation. In October 2018, Garcia made history by becoming the first Latino to be sworn in as the Public Defender of Los Angeles County.

Garcia embarked on his legal journey in 1995 with the San Diego Public Defender’s Office. By 1998, he had joined the Alternate Public Defender’s Office, making a mark as the youngest attorney within that entity.
