Naveed Akram Biography – Naveed Akram Wikipedia

In a tragic turn of events at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, Naveed Akram, a Pakistani-Australian bricklayer, has been identified as one of the alleged shooters involved in a deadly attack. Apprehended at the scene, Akram is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition under police supervision. Sadly, his father, Sajid Akram, lost his life during the incident.

Born in 2001, the 24-year-old Akram grew up in Sydney’s western suburb of Bonnyrigg, residing with his family. The Akram family had previously lived in Cabramatta before moving to their current home, which they purchased in 2024. His father was a fruit shop owner, while his mother, Verena, is a homemaker who also cares for her elderly mother nearby. Naveed has a 22-year-old sister and a 20-year-old brother.

Akram’s background includes his education at Cabramatta High School, followed by a career as a bricklayer. Unfortunately, he was laid off two months ago when his company faced insolvency. Despite the setback, he was actively seeking new employment opportunities. His mother describes him as an enthusiast of outdoor activities such as fishing, scuba diving, swimming, and exercising.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Akram had completed Quran studies at the Al-Murad Institute in Heckenberg, western Sydney, as evidenced by a now-deleted 2022 social media post. This institute specializes in Arabic and Quranic education.

Naveed Akram IDF

According to social media accounts on Reddit and X, Naveed Akram allegedly served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). “Naveed Akram is an IDF soldier that served in Gaza and returned to Australia,” an account called Jvnior said in a post on X. “Today, he lost his mind and killed 12 Jews.”

The Jerusalem Post termed these claims as “conspiracy theories”. The accounts spread the theory that Israel was behind the attack in the Sydney suburb, including claims that the Mossad organized the attack as a geopolitical maneuver, victims were crisis actors, and that one of the shooters was an IDF shooter.

Dozens of accounts claimed that the Mossad orchestrated the shootings to win sympathy from the global community amid Gaza war public diplomacy problems, or in order to mobilize supporters for continued conflict with Iran.

X and Reddit users pointed to investigations into Iranian involvement, following the Islamic Republic’s hand in other incidents in Australia, as proof of an attempt to manufacture consent for a war.

“Bondi was a false flag to kick off another war,” wrote Michael Rivero, whose X account has ten thousand followers. Some commentators claimed that the experience of the attackers with firearms proved that they were actually IDF soldiers ordered to carry out the false flag. Others claimed that one of the alleged terrorists was an IDF soldier who had mental issues because of his service in Gaza.
