How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Bravo Mondays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.

Chef Anthony Iracane made a return to Below Deck Season 12 in Episode 2, stepping in after Chef Lawrence Snowden announced his departure from the St. David. A storm seems to be on the horizon already.

“It’s a redemption,” Chef Anthony remarked on his comeback, referring to his firing in Season 11. “I’m not a loser and I can be a winner. I can make all my family proud. It’s going to be showtime. It’s going to be the Tony show.”

Upon reuniting with Captain Kerry Titheradge, he expressed, “It feels really good to be home. … I’m ready. I feel fresh,” and assured, “I will do my best for sure.”

What happened between chef Anthony and Fraser Olender?

Though Kerry re-hired Anthony at Chief Stew Fraser Olender’s suggestion, the two apparently have some unfinished business. “Coming back to the boat, I have a lot of different [emotions] inside me,” Anthony explained in a confessional. “I love Fraser, but I was feeling like maybe Fraser betrayed me. I need to find the right moment to talk about my feelings with Fraser to put everything on the table.”

Fraser, for his part, described their relationship as being “like brothers” who “get along incredibly well,” sharing that the Florida-based French chef’s Season 11 exit “was absolutely heart-wrenching” for him. He continued, “Having him here makes me so happy and excited.”

The chief stew also gifted his temporary bunkmate a protective evil eye talisman because it “keeps the bad energy away,” optimistically predicting a “very good season ahead” of them. As Anthony cryptically joked in reply, “I’m the bad energy now.”

Indeed, Below Deck‘s June 9 episode already teased Anthony and Fraser getting into an explosive argument. You’ll have to tune in to find out what happened in between, but in the meantime, get reacquainted with Chef Anthony.

Chef Anthony’s Below Deck Season 11 journey, revisited

Before Anthony arrived, Fraser vaguely mentioned that the chef “had issues” last season, as flashbacks reminded viewers of his galley in disarray and charter guests disliking his mac and cheese, for example. In one clip, the chief stew also said the guest preferences “weren’t really considered,” and his meals began lacking “superior” standards.

“I just think that he’d lost his way, and he spiraled. But he’s got it in him,” Fraser explained of why Anthony was previously fired. “That boy is incredibly talented. And if I can help him where I need to and guide him, we’ve got something.”

Captain Kerry, meanwhile, cited how Anthony “started off really strong, but his mental state wasn’t good” as the reason why he “had to let him go” during Season 11. “Chef Anthony knows the job. That’s the pro,” he elaborated. “The con: I fired him before. I don’t wanna repeat it.”

Declaring that, now, he feels “stronger [and] more organized,” Anthony also reflected on his Below Deck Season 11 dismissal.

“Me getting fired on St. David, I was, like, kind of destroyed about that,” the SnackyBae founder shared, noting that fellow yachtie Barbara “Barbie” Pascual called him after the season wrapped with some new intel. “She told me Fraser was a big part of me getting fired. That hurt me so bad. I still don’t really know what happened, so I think I have all this anger. [At] the same time, I can’t believe I get this kind of second chance.”

As Anthony gears up for his first charter of the season, don’t miss what led to Chef Lawrence quitting his job on the vessel.
