Lindsay Hubbard finds herself “stuck” with a grand piano that she never wanted. On Sunday, June 1, the Summer House star shared the scenario on Instagram, just over two weeks after transitioning to her new apartment in NYC.

While capturing a part of her living room, Lindsay mentioned her plans to create a play area for her daughter, Gemma Britt Kufe. She had envisioned using House of Noa furniture pieces for this space, but those plans are currently on hold because the piano is occupying too much room.

Lindsay Hubbard says there was a “misunderstanding” with her new home

“So, about the piano,” Lindsay stated with a sigh. “Remember, the piano was initially there and we shifted it to the foyer because I’m trying to make a little play area for Gemma. You know what? I’ll show you the ‘before’ and just how much space the piano is consuming.”

Lindsay shared footage of the Steinway & Sons piano in front of the built-in shelving units. As shown in the Story, the piece covered a large portion of the room, which made it difficult for Lindsay to finish setting up Gemma’s play area.

“This has been an ongoing drama, and I will spare you every detail…” she wrote. “But basically there was a misunderstanding where the owner’s real estate broker thought I wanted to keep the piano (not sure why since we literally never talked about this piano ever, and the apt was listed as unfurnished)… but now I’m stuck with this massive grand piano until the owner can either sell it or store it somewhere else…”

Lindsay Hubbard shares a look at her baby girl’s living room

It’s unclear how long Lindsay will have to live with the piano, but she confirmed it was moved to near the unit’s entrance in the meantime. She has since been able to arrange Gemma’s mini living room, which featured a set of white-and-pink striped play couches, decorative pillows, two ottomans, and an area rug.

“Gemma’s living room!” she captioned a photo.

Although the play area looked great, it wasn’t exactly how Lindsay envisioned it. Why? Well, the space had a TV that the previous owners also left behind.

“They asked me not to disconnect it because apparently it was too difficult to connect the wires)…” Lindsay explained, “so I turned MY living room to face the other direction.”

Despite the piano “drama,” Lindsay’s home move appears to be going quite well. The Hamptons Housemate has shared regular updates on the process, revealing several peeks at her and Gemma’s bedrooms, her newly painted kitchen, and meticulously organized closets.

Why did Lindsay Hubbard leave her old apartment?

Lindsay said goodbye to her previous NYC home back in May, about five months after she and her boyfriend, Turner Kufe, welcomed their daughter. Lindsay said she loved her old home but felt it was time for a “fresh start.”

“I am apartment hunting for apartments downtown,” she told The Daily Dish in March. I love my current apartment, but it’s seen me through a lot of changes… I have to start making friends for [Gemma] and eventually put her in school. So that’s the goal. Right now, the location is the most important for Gemma and what is best for her.”

Find out why Lindsay decided not to move in with Turner during her pregnancy.
