A Heartbreaking Farewell in Birmingham

At 72, Sharon Osbourne struggled to contain her tears as she trailed the hearse carrying her partner of 43 years. Clad in black attire, she held a tissue and a bouquet wrapped in black paper—reflecting the somber yet celebratory mood Ozzy had envisioned.

Her children Kelly, Jack, and Aimee stood by her side, providing both physical and emotional support. At one moment, Sharon nearly lost her balance, but Kelly and Jack helped her steady herself with comforting whispers.

The crowd burst into chants of “Sharon, Sharon!” as she raised her hand in a peace sign, showing her recognition of their support. This moment highlighted the profound connection between the Osbournes and their devoted fans.

Ozzy’s Final Ride Through His Hometown

The procession made stops at significant landmarks, including Ozzy’s childhood home in Aston, where local residents displayed his photograph in their windows. A brass band performed Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” as the flower-adorned hearse, with purple blooms spelling out “OZZY”, proceeded along Broad Street.

At the Black Sabbath Bridge, the family placed pink roses wrapped in black paper, a nod to the band’s legendary style. Sharon broke down once more as she read heartfelt messages from fans.

A Celebration, Not a “Mope-Fest”

True to Ozzy’s wishes, the event balanced sorrow with celebration. In a past interview, he had joked about wanting pranks at his funeral, like “knocking sounds from the coffin”.

Kelly honored her father by wearing purple-tinted sunglasses, his signature style, while Jack held his mother’s hand tightly. Even Ozzy’s rarely-seen daughter, Aimee, stood by her family’s side.
