Akul Dhawan parents have been notified about the terrible news of his sudden and unexpected death.

In a shocking turn of events, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus is mourning the death of one of its members.

The tragedy unfolded when the student was found dead on the back porch of a building in the 1200 block of West Nevada Street around 11 a.m.

Akul Dhawan’s roommate was instrumental in informing authorities of his absence, contacting the police at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Moreover, the roommate was worried since he hadn’t seen Dhawan in about an hour and couldn’t contact him on the phone.

This caused campus police to conduct an immediate search of the area where Dhawan was last seen, including the main Quad and campus streets.

Dhawan was not found until 11:08 a.m. when a university employee found his lifeless body on a building’s back porch.
