'This Is What I Voted For': Trump Executive Order Fulfills Big Promise on Care for Vets vs. Illegals

On Sunday evening at 6:22 p.m. ET, he made a surprising announcement about plans to significantly slash prescription drug prices.

He said his executive order could lower the prices of prescription drugs by as much as 30-80 percent. It’s a long post, but here you go:

For a long time, many have questioned why the cost of prescription drugs in the United States is so much higher than in other countries, sometimes up to five to ten times more expensive for identical medications, manufactured in the same labs by the same companies. This disparity has long been hard to justify, as there was no reasonable explanation. Pharmaceutical companies claimed it was due to research and development expenses, with these costs somehow falling solely on Americans. While campaign contributions can influence, they won’t sway my decisions or those of the Republican Party. We are committed to making the right choices, something Democrats have pushed for over many years. I’m excited to share that tomorrow morning, at 9:00 A.M. at the White House, I will sign a groundbreaking Executive Order. This will decrease prescription drug prices in the U.S. by 30% to 80%. Prices globally will adjust to balance out the costs, bringing fairness to Americans. We will implement a “Most Favored Nation” policy ensuring that the U.S. pays the same as the lowest price country globally. This will lead to a fairer treatment for the U.S. and significantly lower healthcare costs for our citizens. Moreover, it will save the country trillions of dollars. Thank you for your attention. Let’s MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

He further stated that at 9 a.m. ET on Monday, he would sign one of the most significant Executive Orders in U.S. history, enacting a “most favored nation” policy to immediately and dramatically reduce Americans’ prescription drug prices.
