Renowned comedian and actress Ruby Wax has become the sixth contestant to touch down at Brisbane Airport in preparation for the upcoming season of “I’m A Celeb,” which kicks off this Sunday.

The 72-year-old host of “When Ruby Met” made her arrival in Australia sporting a casual look with sunglasses, a grey t-shirt, and jeans.

In a conversation with the Daily Mail, Wax expressed her thoughts on the adventure ahead, saying, “I don’t mind camping. I’ve been on desert islands before and did a show where I had to live alone for 10 days, so this is nothing.”

She added, “The exciting part is the people. I look forward to dissecting their personalities and discovering what makes them so intriguing.”

Wax mentioned that she wouldn’t miss much from the UK, except for her cats, and commented, “This is the strangest thing I’ve ever done.”

She humorously pondered, “What if you don’t like the people? But generally, I do get along with others—though if I don’t, it tends to show on my face.”

Ruby is set to join names including Martin Kemp, Lisa Riley and Kelly Brook in the famous jungle when the new series kicks off on Sunday.

She found fame on ITV sitcom Girls On Top in 1985 and went on to be an interviewer on shows such as the BBC’s Ruby Wax Meets.

Ahead of her stint, she said: ‘It hasn’t actually sunk in that I am doing this, but I am really looking forward to meeting my fellow campmates.

‘I was offered the chance to take part a long time ago and I thought, “No, I could never do that” but now it’s the right time. I like doing adventurous things.

‘It will be nice for people to get to know the real me because you can’t hide in the jungle.

‘In my personas before, I looked quite aggressive and pushy, and I think it was just my nerves. I am not aggressive, it’s the way I talk. I’m not confrontational and it looked like I was. ‘

The survival reality show, presented by Declan Donnelly, 50, and Ant McPartlin, 49, will be back on the popular channel this coming Sunday (November 16).

Each year, two contestants enter a week later than the first batch of 10 celebrities and typically have to complete their own task before joining the rest of the camp.
