Three family members are dead after a suspected murder-suicide in Washington state on Tuesday, and a 12-year-old child who was at the residence managed to escape and call 911.

According to the Seattle Times, two adults and a 10-year-old child were found fatally shot at a home in Auburn on Tuesday evening. A 12-year-old child, believed to be a family member, reportedly escaped during the shooting and ran to the home of a neighbor, who called 911. The surviving child was not injured.

Police have not publicly identified the victims, but the adults who died are reportedly a man and a woman, both 41 years old. Investigators believe the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, but it is yet unclear which decedent died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A neighbor told local news station KOMO that a couple lived at the home with two young children, but police have not yet confirmed the relationships.

The surviving child is safe and housed, according to the Seattle Times. Child Protective Services is involved, but it is not yet known if the child is expected to go into CPS custody or live with a relative.
