Reality television star Josh Duggar was sentenced on Wednesday in Arkansas to 12 years in prison for federal child porn charges.

District Judge Timothy Brooks considered only one charge when sentencing Duggar, 34, to 151 months in prison for receiving and possessing child porn. Duggar had dozens of illicit pictures and two videos that showed a man sexually abusing girls between the ages of five and 10, according to Page Six.

In December, a federal jury convicted Duggar of receipt and possession of child pornography. KHBS reported that Brooks only considered the receipt charge for sentencing, as it is the more severe charge.

Duggar faced a maximum sentence of 20 years. His legal team argued that someone else downloaded the illegal materials onto his computer.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Duggar has been accused of sexually abusing five underage girls — including sisters Joy-Anna, Jessa, Jill, and Jinger — when he was a teen. Joy-Anna and Jinger have expressed support regarding Josh’s guilty verdict.

According to KHBS, defense attorney Justin Gelfand said they plan to appeal Josh’s sentence, but it is unclear on what grounds he will do so. A day before sentencing, the defense requested an acquittal, alleging prosecutors did not disclose evidence in a timely fashion.
