At least 20 people were injured Friday night in two separate shootings in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, causing panic at an NBA game where thousands of people fled on the streets.

Shortly after 11 p.m., 17 people were shot near Water Street and Juneau Avenue, a popular social district downtown with many bars and restaurants, according to WISN-TV. Police arrested at least 10 people in connection with the barrage of bullets and recovered nine guns from the scene, the television station reports.

The victims reportedly range in age from 15 to 47 years old, according to the television station. All of the victims are expected to survive.

The gunfire erupted nearly two hours after three other people were shot near the arena where 11,000 people were watching the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team play the Boston Celtics in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, WDJT-TV reports.

The shooting sent panic through the crowd as people were leaving the game and caused attendees to flee the scene, according to videos posted on social media. People can be heard screaming and running through the streets in the videos.

Brittany Bergstrom, who was near the arena, described the chaotic moments after the shooting.

“We walked out of the Punch Bowl (Social) and everybody started running,” Bergstrom told WITI-TV. “There was a stampede, people running over the shrubs, hats, shoes on the ground, drinks spilled everywhere.”

Multiple fights were reported and had to be broken up before the shooting. A 16-year-old girl and two men ages 26 and 29 were struck with bullets in the shooting; all are expected to survive.

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the shooting near the arena.
