War medals, a $25,000 engagement ring, and $50,000 worth of jewellery were stolen in two break-ins at neighbouring properties in Toorak, Melbourne, last month.
Police were told the burglar broke into the homes on Stonehaven Court at about 6.30pm on Friday, June 27.
The thief stole a two-carat diamond engagement ring from the first property.
At the second property, the thief stole a safe holding about $50,000 worth of jewellery, as well as four Army medals.
Police said the medals belonged to the victim’s now-dead mother.
The residents of both properties were not home at the time.
